The research division of the Uttarakhand Forest Department has found a rare carnivorous plant called "Uticularia Furcellata" in the Mandal valley of the Chamoli district. According to Sanjiv Chaturvedi, Chief Conservator of Forests, this is the first time the plant has been seen in both Uttarakhand and the entire western Himalayan region (Research).
