Dalai Lama receives the highest civilian honor in Ladakh for his spiritual leadership.

The highest civilian honour in Ladakh, the "dPal rNgam Duston" award, was given to the head of the Tibetan spiritual order, the Dalai Lama. This honour is granted in recognition of his enormous contributions to humanity, particularly to the union territory.
