For the first time, the World Athletics Championships were contested in America. Additionally, Team USA made the most of their time during the previous 10 days in terms of medals. India placed fourth in Asia and 33rd overall, just behind China, Japan, and Kazakhstan. The United States concluded the competition with a total of 33 medals, more than three times as many as any other country in the competition and more than any other country has ever won at a global championship. • With one silver medal each, South Korea, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Croatia, Greece, and Algeria are tied for 33rd place with India in the medal count.

• The women's 800-meter event and the men's and women's 4400-meter relays, both won gold medals on Sunday thanks to Athing Mu, giving the United States a total of four podium finishers.
• Ethiopia, Jamaica, and Kenya all finished the international competition with a combined total of 10 medals. Ethiopia is in the lead with four gold medals, only China has more.
