Every year on July 28, World Hepatitis Day is commemorated to increase awareness of viral hepatitis, which causes inflammation of the liver and can result in serious illness and liver cancer. This day presents an opportunity to intensify national and international efforts to combat hepatitis, inspire individuals, partners, and the general public to take action and draw attention to the need for a more comprehensive global response as outlined in the WHO's Global Hepatitis Report of 2017.
