Pre RMO or PRMO Exam: Pre RMO or PRMO is the initial phase of the Indian Mathematical Olympiad. PRMO is the abbreviation for Pre Regional Mathematical Olympiad. It is the first round for the selection of students for the Indian Mathematical Olympiad. National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) has appointed the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) as the coordinator of the exam. Under the supervision of HBCSE, the Mathematics Teachers’ Association (MTA) conducts the exam. Candidates belonging to classes 8-12 can participate in the exam. Pre Regional Mathematical Olympiad 

Pre RMO exam takes place in August every year. This is the first phase of the Indian Mathematical Olympiad. Candidates who qualify for this phase will be able to move on to the second level i.e., the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO).  
 

Pre RMO Registration 

Before registering for the Pre Regional Mathematical Olympiad, you should check if you are eligible for it. We would like to tell you that candidates from classes 8-12 belonging to a recognized educational board like CBSE, ICSE, and other state boards can take part in the Pre RMO. Candidates can visit the official website of the Mathematics Teachers’ Association and register themselves with the required details.

Pre RMO Syllabus 

Pre Regional Mathematical Olympiad Syllabus involves the Mathematics Syllabus of Classes 8-12. Syllabus includes Algebra, Geometry, Number system, and combinations. Candidates can refer to the following books to prepare for the exam-

Pre RMO Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates belonging to identified educational boards like CBSE, ICSE, and other state boards can participate in the Pre Regional Mathematical Olympiad. However, they should be from Classes 8-12.

Pre RMO Exam Dates 2022-2023 

The exam dates for the Pre Regional Mathematical Olympiad are decided as 24 November and 20 December 2022. The exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode. Candidates can expect the Pre RMO Result 2022-2023 in January 2023.

Pre RMO Exam Pattern 2022-2023 

The Exam Pattern for Pre Regional Mathematical Olympiad outlines the number and type of questions that may appear in the examination. In addition, it covers the duration of the exam. There will be 30 questions in the exam, and 3 hours will be given to the candidates to complete the exam. Important topics for the Pre regional Mathematical olympiad exam are Trigonometry, Integers, Permutations and Combinations, and Number Theory.

Pre RMO Exam Result 2022-2023 

The result for the Pre Regional Mathematical Olympiad for the year 2022-2023 is expected to be declared in January 2023. The result can be checked out at the official website of the Mathematics Teachers' Association. The result will be in the form of a merit list, and candidates can download it for future reference.

How can one prepare for the Pre RMO Exam?

The Pre Regional Mathematical Olympiad exam is the first phase of the Indian Mathematical Olympiad. It includes the Maths syllabus of Classes 8-12. Following are the tips to prepare for the exam-
