Answer Key

 Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry launched the sixth edition of the annual cleanliness survey- Swachh Survekshan -2021 at a web event in New Delhi on 1 March. Swachh Survekshan is an annual survey of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in cities and towns across India. It was launched as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which aimed to make India clean and free of open defecation by 2nd October 2019. 

The Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India takes up the Swachh Survekshan in urban areas and the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation in rural areas. The Quality Council of India (QCI) is responsible for carrying out the assessment.
Recently, A US federal court has issued a temporary restraining order barring start-up firm Devas Multimedia from entering any agreement with Antrix Corporation- the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organization (OSRO), for settlement of a $1.2 billion arbitration award confirmed by the US court over a failed 2005 satellite deal..

National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year. On this day in 1928, Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman discovered a phenomenon of scattering of photons which was later known as ‘Raman Effect’ after his name. After two years in 1930, he got Nobel Prize for this remarkable discovery and this was the first Nobel Prize for India in the field of Science. To mark the discovery of his famous phenomenon National Science Day is celebrated in India on this day each year.

India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C51 successfully launched Amazonia-1 along with 18 co-passenger satellites on February 28, 2021 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota. Amazonia-1 is the optical earth observation satellite of National Institute for Space Research (INPE)-Brazil. This satellite would further strengthen the existing structure by providing remote sensing data to users for monitoring deforestation in the Amazon region and analysis of diversified agriculture across the Brazilian territory.

Nasa's Perseverance rover landed on Mars on 18 February. It is tasked to seek signs of ancient life and collect samples of rock and regolith (broken rock and soil) for possible return to Earth
