Delhi police recruitments for 2020 have started for filling up of nearly 5846 vacancies.

The deadline to apply online for Delhi Police Constable Exam is 7th of September 2020.
In order to be eligible to apply for this exam you must have completed class 12th level of education from a recognised board and your age limit should be between 18 to 25 years.

Talking about Delhi Police Constable Exam 2020, the exam pattern is such that it is divided into 3 phases:
1. Computer Based Exam: This exam will be held between 27th November and 14th December this year and will be computer based. Here, you will be given 90 minutes to attempt 100 objective type questions. Each question carries 1 mark and for every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.
This exam further comprises of subsections and their weightage is shown in the diagram below:
You will get 50 questions on your GK and Current affairs, 25 questions on reasoning, 15 on numerical ability and 10 questions will test you for your computer fundamentals like Ms Word, Ms Excel, knowledge of World Wide Web, etc.
The level of questions you get in this exam will be of Matriculation Level. If you are not good in English no need to worry as this Delhi Police Constable exam will be held in Hindi language as well.
2. Physical Endurance and Measurement Test: This test will be conducted by Delhi Police in Delhi itself and will be separate for males and females. Here your physical ability will be tested based on parameters like long jump, high jump, race, etc. You will also need to pass the fitness criteria’s set by Delhi Police related to measurement of your height, etc.
3. Medical Exam: This exam will be conducted for only those candidates who will be shortlisted by Delhi Police based on the other two tests. Although the rank for this post might be lower than some other government jobs but every year lakhs of candidates try their luck to get hold of this job due to the salary structure involved. After you have finished your training suceessfully, you will join Delhi Police at job level 3 under Group D. Your pay band will be something between Rs. 21700 to Rs.69100. Apart from basic pay you will get various allowances like House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), Travel allowance (TA) and many others.
Hence, the gross salary of a Delhi Police constable will be something around Rs. 38, 000 per month which includes: 24% HRA of basic pay i.e. around Rs. 5208, 17% DA which amounts to nearly Rs.3689, TA of Rs. 4212. Apart from these allowances, you also get Rs. 3636 as Ration money and Rs.180 per month as cycle allowance.Other perks of joining Delhi Police as a constable are that you get Rs. 10000 per month for your duty dress. In addition to that, you also have access to medical claim.
For example; if any member of your family who is dependent on you falls sick then about 90% of the money spent on treatment of the patient will be refunded to you after your medical claim is passed. Moreover, if you are married person and have children, you also get a refund of about 80% of the money you spent on their education. This is referred to as Child study claim.
Leaving the monetary benefits aside you also get to enjoy some other perks. As you all must be aware that being a constable you have to give duty for 365 days of the year and there are no holidays, not even in festivals.
