Staff Selection Commission, SSC has announced a total of 5846 vacancies out of which 1,944 posts are for women constable (executive), 3,433 post for male constable (executive), 226 posts for male constable Servicemen and 243 posts for male constable Ex-servicemen.
Delhi Police has initiated various schemes to promote and expand women forces in the department. In the year 2019 Delhi Police introduced a 16 women constable force and assigned 8 pink coloured two-wheelers for easy patrolling. While in 2018 Delhi Police introduced India’s First Women SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) team. The SWAT team consists of 26 well trained female constables.
