How to prepare for IBPS CLERK preliminary examination?

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is an autonomous body set up to see through the selection of personnel for various client organizations.The IBPS Clerk exam is conducted by The Institute for Banking Personnel Selection every year.

The exam is divided into three sections -

Prelims & Mains .
 

For Prelims-

ENGLISH:

Cloze Test
Reading Comprehension
 Spotting Errors
 Sentence Improvement
 Sentence Correction
 Para Jumbles
 Fill in the Blanks
 Para/Sentence Completion

The 30  marks the section carries can be scored   with a  good preparation and properly planned study plan .
Candidates should focus more on topics like Vocabulary , Grammar , synonyms , antonyms etc 
Reading is key to scoring in  English better . You need to practice reading daily to develop your speed skills.

NUMERICAL APTITUDE:


Data Interpretation
 Simplification/Approximation
 Quadratic Equation
 Data Sufficiency
 Mensuration
 Average
 Profit and Loss
 Ratio and Proportion
 Work, Time and Energy
 Time and Distance
 Probability
 Relations
 Simple and CompoundInterest

REASONING ABILITY : 



Seating Arrangements 
 Puzzles
 Inequalities
 Syllogism
 Input-Output
 Data Sufficiency
 Blood Relations
 Order and Ranking
 Alphanumeric Series
 Distance and Direction
 Verbal Reasoning

Don’t spend too much time on a particular  question in both of these  sections. These sections require most amount of time in the exam. So  candidates  who are a bit slow with calculation techniques are advised to attempt this at the end, to avoid the incompletion of the paper.
