OAVS Recruitment Selection Process 2022
The three stages of the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan exam are described above. A distinct syllabus and exam format are used for each stage. The specifics are provided below:- Computer-based Test: The computer-based test has four sections—Language Proficiency Test, General Awareness & Computer Literacy, Academic, and Administration & Finance—and lasts three hours. It carries 180 points.
- Interview: The interview, which carries 60 marks, is the second part of the OAVS selection process. The interview round does not have a set curriculum, but the panellists may ask applicants questions on general knowledge, personality evaluation, and current events to determine whether they are qualified for the position.
- Test based on performance: The performance test will have 20 marks and be administered independently, in in which there will be an interview of 20 marks.
OAVS Selection Process 2022 - Computer-Based Test
- The first stage of the OAVS selection process is the computer-based test which is an objective type paper of 3 hours duration.
- The questions have four options each and a correct answer carries one mark and an incorrect answer will be given a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
- Unmarked answers will not be awarded any marks. The first section of the exam is the Language Proficiency section, which is qualifying in nature, where the candidate’s English and Odia language knowledge are tested.
- A candidate must score at least 13 marks in this test (minimum of 5 marks in each language), in order for the remaining sections of the test to be evaluated.
- The exam patterns for the Principal post and other posts like TGT, PGT, PET and Computer Teacher are different. For the principal exam, the total marks is 180 marks and for the other posts, the total marks is 200 marks. They are shown in detail below:

- There will be an interview for 60 marks as well for the post of Principal.
- The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Parts II, III, IV& interview (40+30+70+60=200).
- For the preparation of the final merit, the weighted evaluation scheme will be examined (Parts II, III& IV) and interview: 70% and 30%.
OAVS Selection Process 2022 - Interview
The interview is the second stage of the OAVS selection process. Candidates who have qualified the computer-based preliminary exam will be able to appear for the interview.
- There will be an interview for 60 marks as well for the post of Principal. There will be an interview for 40 marks as well for the post of TGT, PGT, PET and Librarian.
- There will be an interview for 20 marks as well for the post of Computer Teacher.
OAVS Selection Process 2022 - Performance Test
For the post of Computer Teacher alone, a performance test of 20 marks will be held separately where the candidate is tested for practical knowledge and skills related to computer skills.
How early should I arrive for the exams and other stages of the OAVS selection process?
You should arrive at least one and a half hours (90 minutes) before the commencement of the online exam at the examination centre. Late candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam.
What languages is the question paper available in for the OAVS computer-based test?
The question paper will be available in two languages only: English and Odia.
How much weightage do the different stages of the OAVS selection process carry towards the final merit list?
For the Principal, TGT, PET and PGT posts, the marks of the sections other than Language Proficiency Test will make up 70 percent of the total weight and the marks obtained in the interview will make up the remaining 30 percent. For the post of Computer teacher, the marks of the sections other than the Language Proficiency Test will carry a weightage of 50 percent, the marks of the performance-based test will carry 20 percent and the interview marks will carry 30 percent.
