UPSC conducts annually Indian Engineering Services exam to recruit, engineers from various fields in Government of India. UPSC IES Exam notification was released on 27 April, 2021.Due to Second wave of Covid, and postponement of UPSC Civil Services exam speculation were being made about postponement of UPSC IES Exam. Through official notification on 24 th ,April UPSC has cleared the air around the IES exam. As per the notification UPSC IES Exam for the 215 (Approximately) vacancies will be held on 16th July 2021.Know important dates,admit card  and other details in this article.

UPSC has released the revised exam calendar for 2021, as per which preliminary exam original scheduled to be held on 18 th July, is now scheduled on 16 th July 2021.Mains for UPSC IES Exam will be held on 21 November 2021, original date was 10 th October. UPSC IES Exam Eligibility Criteria 2021
 

Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India/Subjects of Bhutan & Nepal/Tibetan refugee who came to India before the 1 January 1962/Person of India origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
In order to prove their nationality, candidates need to produce Certificate received by Indian authorities certifying their claim.
 
Age Limit: The minimum age limit to apply for the UPSC ESE Exam is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years. He/She must have been born not earlier than 2nd  January, 1991 and not later than 1st January, 2000. -  There are various relaxations in age limit, they are given below:

Educational Qualifications:
 In order to apply for the UPSC ESE, candidates must fulfil any of the following educational qualifications:
 
  1. Degree in Engineering from a Recognized University in India
  2. Passed Sections A and B of Examinations of Institution of Engineers  (India
  3. Degree/Diploma in Engineering from foreign University/College/Institution
  4. Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III of the Aeronautical Society of India
  5. Passed Graduate Membership Exam of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London

Candidate must fulfill at least one of the above criteria, in order to be eligible for appearing in the exam.
 

UPSC IES Exam: Exam pattern

UPSC IES Exam is three stage exam, for where preliminary exam will conducted in three days and mains in a single day. Both the exams are pen and paper based. For Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics engineers:
 
Stage‐I:  Preliminary Exam- objective type exam
Stage‐II: Mains Exam- subjective type
Stage‐III: Personality Test

 UPSC IES Exam: Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2021

The UPSC ESE Exam is held in three phases - Prelims, Mains and interview. The exams have different nature i.e. prelims is objective type while mains is subjective type, prelims also tests intelligence and general awareness of candidates.

Mains paper is conducted in two phases in a single day. Exam consists of two papers Paper-I and Paper-II. The maximum possible marks for each paper are 300.
Only twice the number of vaccines get a call for interview.
