Why do you like your country? Is exactly the same question when someone ask you…Why do you like your
Mother? Country is not a thing that I like or dislike, it is an emotion. An emotion when you listen the National Anthem, when you listen the National Song or any Patriotic song, you get goosebumps, tears comes out from your eyes, a strong feeling, a strong emotion start running throughout your body. That is the love or emotion you can never explain, you can only feel deep-deep in the heart & soul.
I like my Country due to the Following Reasons :
- Unity In Diversity : Different religion, different culture, different language, different traditions, different festival, different rituals…but still we live together like a garden with varieties of flowers.
- Brotherhood : As I have told you earlier that so many people of different religion & different culture live together, we live with harmony. This is the land of festivals whether it is Holi, Diwali, Eid, Christmas, etc. all these festivals are not only for that particular religion. It is celebrated by whole country. We celebrate all the festivals whether it is of our religion or other.
- Its Heritage : The rich tradition or legacy that is continuously carry forwarded by generations & even by us, is the beauty of our country.
- Hospitality (i.e Atithi Devo Bhava…) : This is our country, where we treat our Guests as Dev i.e God. Welcoming gesture towards our guests or strangers, make us stand to the top of the World.
- Rivers : If we talk about the rivers, India is the only country where rivers are treated as God, we worship them. Ganga, Yamuna, Brahmaputra, Meghna, Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna, Kaveri that flows towards Bay of Bengal and Narmada, Tapi, Sindhu, Sabarmati, Mahi, Purna that flows towards Arabian Sea.
- Mountains : If we talk about the mountains, we have 7 major mountains. They are Himalaya range, karakoram and Pir Panjal range, The Purvanchal range, Satpura and Vindhaya range, Aravalli range, Western ghats and Eastern ghats.
- Agriculture : In the whole World we are the only people who respect our farmers by calling them The ‘Ann-Data’. Agriculture is the largest source of livelihoods in India. 70% of its rural households still depend primarily on agriculture. India is the second largest producer of wheat and rice. India is currently the world's second largest producer of several dry fruits, agriculture-based textile raw materials, roots and tuber crops, pulses, farmed fish, eggs, coconut, sugarcane and numerous vegetables.
- History : According to me, India has the most powerful and glorious history, filled up with many Kings, Queens, Rulers and Freedom fighters. Chandragupta maurya, Ashoka, Prithviraj Chauhan, Shivajji, Akbar, Shah Jahan - these are some powerful kings that we are proud of. Rani Laxmibai the greatest of the greatest queen, the symbol of bravery, honour and patriotism. This country is the Land of Freedom Fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawarharlal Nehru, Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and many more. The History of this nation is so great that anyone who want to study about it, have to spend his whole life in reading.
- Festivals : India is often called as the land of festivals and fairs where each day is some kind of celebration and there are more festivals celebrated in India than anywhere else in the world. In India everyday is a festival.
- Door to Divinity : From opulent temples and mosques to marvellous churches, resplendent Gurudwaras and serene monasteries, India is the home of holiness. You want to learn something about spirituality, India is the best place in the World. Not only the Indians, but the people of other countries also came here to know about the spirituality, to feel the divine power. I am proud of my Nation’s Army who protect our border, day and night. The Indian army controls the highest battlefield in the world, the Siachen Glacier, which is 5000 metres above sea level. The Indian army has the biggest 'voluntary' military force in the world. At last I would like to say that this is the only country who taught the World about Peace and Harmony. And I believe that we and our future generation will do the same. We got the Freedom after lots of sacrifices. So Don’t waste it….
