About

CLAT is one of the most sought after law entrance exams in India. After clearing the exam, candidates get admission in top-notch NLUs and other universities for pursuing law. Understanding the exam pattern and syllabus of CLAT is the first step for candidates to succeed in the exam. After this students need to prepare for the exam in a systematic manner.

About the CLAT:

There are a total of 22 participating national law universities that conduct the CLAT exam on a rotational basis. Approx 2500 UG and 720 PG CLAT seats are offered by the participating NLUs every year. There are a total of 53 private universities in India that accept the CLAT score for admission to UG & PG Courses. 

Degree (UG) offered by NLUs: Students get a dual degree (5years BA/BBA/B.Sc./B.Com./BLS - LLB)


CLAT Exam Pattern:

Exam Mode: Objective Type Offline Mode (Pen & Paper)
Exam Pattern: CLAT (UG)

1. English Language: 
28-32 questions, or roughly 20% of the paper

2. Current Affairs, including General Knowledge:
35-39 questions, or roughly 25% of the paper

3. Logical Reasoning:
28-32 questions, or roughly 20% of the paper

4. Quantitative Techniques:
13-17 questions, or roughly 10% of the paper

5. Legal Reasoning:
35-39 questions, or roughly 25% of the paper

(Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted if the wrong answer marked.)
