Pratibha Devisingh Patil[1] (born 19 December 1934) is an Indian politician and lawyer who served as the 12th president of India from 25 July 2007 to July 2012. A member of the Indian National Congress, Patil is the only woman to have held the office.[2] She had previously served as the Governor of Rajasthan from 2004 to 2007.
