Give a brief description about peat.
Peat is a dominantly organic material composed of partly decomposed plant material. It has high water content and low density and varies enormously in its hydraulic and strength characteristics. A basic distinction is generally made between two types of flow: slides and bursts (Evans and Warburton, 2007).
