Saturated compounds are saturated by means of number of bonds or they contains only single bonds. For example, CH3—CH3 (ethane), CH3CH2CH3 (propane) Unsaturated hydrocarbon contains multiple bonds (C=C or C≡C) For example, CH≡CH (ethyne) and CH2=CH2 (ethene).
