State reason for the following: (i) Herbivores need a longer small intestine while carnivores have shorter small intestine.
The cellulose present in the grasses takes a longer time to digest. So, the herbivores have a longer small intestine than the carnivores.l
Herbivores need a longer intestine because they eat grass, leaves and vegetables and this cellulose take long time to digest. While carnivores eat meat and other animals which take lesser time in comparison to herbivores. And herbivores also have an active appendix too while carnivores don't.
