Why is it necessary to separate oxygenated and deoxygenated blood in mammals and birds?
Birds and mammals are warm blooded and need homeostasis to survive. Separated oxygenated and deoxygenated blood makes a more efficient circulatory system. It easily transports oxygen to the cells which can absorb higher amounts of oxygen and hence produce more energy.
