Give a brief description of coffee production in India.
India produces about four per cent of the total coffee produced in the world. The Arabica variety brought from Yemen is produced in our country. Indian coffee is known for its quality and, hence, is in much demand in the international market. It brings in a lot of foreign exchange. In the beginning, its cultivation was introduced on the Baba Budan Hills and is still confined to the Nilgiri in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
