Answer: [A] Rajiv Kumar Notes: The Union Ministry of Law and Justice announced that Rajiv Kumar, the current Election Commissioner, will take over as the next Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) from May 15. Mr Rajiv Kumar, appointed by the President of India, will take charge from CEC Sushil Chandra, who is due to retire. Rajiv Kumar had also served as the Chairman of the Public Enterprises Selection Board.
