The only common factor for two primes is 1, because every prime has only two factors: 1 and the number itself. For example, 11 and 17 are two prime numbers. The divisors of 11 are 1, 11 and the divisors of 17 are 1, 17. The only common divisor is 1 and therefore relatively prime.
