what do you think is the theme of the play? how has it been worked out?
The theme of the play is the position of women in the household. A stay-at-home mom serves her family with devotion, sincerity, and love. But she fails to get the respect, attention, or appreciation she deserves. Her generosity and her eagerness to please everyone demotes her to the rank of unpaid maid in her own home. Instead of being asked politely of her, she is commanded to do so.
