Carbon monoxide gas is more dangerous than carbon dioxide mainly due to its high affinity for haemoglobin. The normal function of haemoglobin is to carry oxygen to different parts of body and bring the carbon dioxide back. Haemoglobin has about 200 times more affinity for carbon monoxide than for oxygen
