Frictional force always works against the motion of the person. Here, a person is moving in the north direction so friction force will act in the south direction. From Newton’s law of motion, force is in direction of change in momentum. The person is just trying to move in the west direction, in which initial momentum was not present. So, the force will be in this direction as well. Option c is correct answer
