What are the different groups of fungi?
There are several classification systems: (i) Artificial Classification: It simply considers a few easily observable traits and ignores anatomical linkages. (ii) Natural Classification: It is based on organisms' natural affinities. It makes use of both external and internal characteristics. (iii) Phylogenetic Classification: This classification is based on evolutionary relationships between organisms, i.e., organisms belonging to the same group have a common ancestor.
