The major purposes of transpiration are given below: i. Transpiration provides water for the photosynthesis process. ii. Transpiration supplies minerals and water to all the plant parts from the soil. iii. By transpiration, the leaf surface also gets cooldown by 10-15°C. iv. It keeps the cells turgid, therefore, maintains the structure and shape of the plant.
