Why less energy is produced during anaerobic respiration?
Less energy is produced during anaerobic respiration because- Incomplete breakdown of the respiratory substrate takes place. Some of the products of anaerobic respiration can be oxidized further to release energy which shows that anaerobic respiration does not liberate the whole of energy contained on the respiratory substrate. O2 is not utilized for securing electrons and protons. NADH2 does not produce ATP as electron transport is absent
