Lead, mercury, cadmium, nickel, cobalt, zinc, and other chemical compounds produced in industrial units contaminate water to a great amount and are linked to a variety of diseases. Mercury toxicity causes minimata disease, while lead poisoning causes a variety of abnormalities.
