Maize seed – these are endospermic.The membranous seed coat is fused with fruit wall.The outer covering of the endosperm which separate the embryo is called aleurone layer.The embryo is present at one end of the endosperm.It consists of large shield shape cotyledons called scutellum, and small plumule and a radical.The plumule and radical is enclosed in a sheath, known as coleorhiza.
