Explanation The earthworm's circulatory system consists of a heart that pumps the blood and the vessels and capillaries that spread the blood throughout the body. Since it is a closed circulatory system, the blood is always closed within the vessels and does not usually fill the cavities. The system consists of mainly three types of vessels: Aortic arches- They pump the blood into the l blood vessels found in the dorsal and ventral regions. Therefore, it resembles the function of a heart in an animal. Dorsal blood vessels- These are the blood vessels that carry blood to the front or the anterior thirteen segment of the earthworm. Ventral blood vessels- These are vessels that carry blood behind the thirteen segments or the intestinal region of the earthworm. Final Answer Earthworms have a closed circulatory system, where the blood is carried using vessels. There are three specialized vessels found in the earthworms, which are aortic arches, the dorsal blood vessels, and the ventral blood vessels.
