It is a known fact that anything that is pure contains only one type of atoms and molecules whether it may be any element or a compound. Same is the case with pure water. Pure water contains only water molecules. The potential of a sample of pure water is always considered to be zero at the standard conditions of temperature and pressure.Due to the aforementioned fact, that pure water contains only water molecules, its movement is constant and very fast. This is the reason why a sample of pure water has the highest water potential.
