Differentiate between (b) Glycolysis and Krebs’ cycle
Glycolysis: 1. It is the first step of cellular respiration wherein the substrate is glucose. 2. The site for the reactions is cytoplasm. 3. It is a linear or straight pathway. 4. 2 molecules of ATP are used. Krebs cycle: 1. It is the second step of cellular respiration wherein the substrate is Acetyl Co.A. 2. It occurs in mitochondrial matrix. 3. It is a cyclic pathway. 4. No ATP molecules are utilized.
