P-wave signifies the atrial depolarization.QRS complex signifies the ventricular depolarization and preceding ventricular systole.T-wave signifies the ventricular repolarization.U-wave signifies the repolarization of the Purkinje fibers. This is usually referred to as the standard ECG. The electrocardiogram is used to detect the abnormality in the heart region. Depending on the ECG, the cardiac problem for a person can be determined.
