Distinguish between asexual and sexual reproduction. Why is vegetative reproduction also considered as a type of asexual reproduction?

Asexual reproduction is reproduction which doesn't involve fusion of gametes or there is no change in number of chromosomes. The genomes of two parents are combined to create offspring which have unique genetic profiles. Sexual reproduction is reproduction that involves fusion of haploid female gamete( egg cell) and haploid male gamete (sperm cell). The fusion of these gametes occur at fertilization that results in formation of a diploid zygote. The zygote thus formed develops into an individual organism that is genetically distinct from the parent organism.
