In case of a true fruit, the ovary forms the main edible portion of the fruit. Grapes, mangoes, etc. are examples of true fruits. Figs, strawberries, pears, pineapples and mulberries are all examples of false fruits because the ovary does not form the main edible portion of the fruit.
