Explanation The process when a female gives birth to a baby as soon as the baby is fully developed, usually in 9 months in mother’s womb is known as parturition. Two hormones oxytocin and relaxin are involved in the process. Oxytocin is responsible for the contraction of smooth muscles of myometrium of the uterus and shows the passage to foetus to move towards the birth canal. Relaxin is responsible for relaxation of the pelvic ligaments. It also prepares the uterus for child birth. Final Answer The process of giving birth to baby is known as parturition.
