The given statement is true. For instance: (I) Ptolemy postulated the existence of geocentric theory. According to him earth is at the centre of universe and heavenly bodies revolve around the earth. It is a heresy. But when Galileo proved the heliocentric theory then Ptolemy’s geocentric theory was considered as a dogma. (II) Initially wave theory of light was given by Young’s double slit experiment, it was a heresy. But when quantum theory was given by Einstein or came into the picture then wave theory was considered as a dogma.Final Answer “Every great physical theory starts as a heresy and ends as a dogma”.
