A particle is executing SHM according to the equation x = 5 sin πt, where x is in cm. How long will the particle take to move from the position of equilibrium to the position of maximum displacement?

The displacement of the particle varies with time according to the equations x = 5 sin π t Maximum displacement = amplitude = 5 cm At time t =0, x =0. Hence time t taken by the particle to move from x = 0 to x = 5 cm is given by, x = 5 sin π t t = 0.5 s
