What do the terms phycobiont and mycobiont signify?
Phycobiont refers back to the algal factor of the lichens and mycobiont refers back to the fungal factor. Algae contain chlorophyll and put together meals for fungi while the fungus offers refuge to algae and absorbs water and nutrients from the soil. This kind of dating is called symbiotic.
