What is the basic difference in approach between the Mendeleev's Periodic Law and the Modern Periodic Law?

Mendeleev's Periodic Law states that the bodily and chemical homes of factors are periodic features in their atomic weights. On the opposite hand, the Modern periodic Law states that the bodily and chemical residences of factors are periodic capabilities in their atomic numbers.
