Differentiate between the Apoplast and Symplast pathways of movement of water in plants.
In the apoplast pathway, water is transported from root hair to xylem thru the mobileular wall of intervening cells. Apoplastic water motion past the cortex is blocked via way of means of the Casparian strip of endodermal cells. Hence, the symplastic direction is utilised to supply water and ions past the cortex.
