A defoliated plant will now no longer reply to the photoperiodic cycle. It is hypothesised that the hormonal substance chargeable for flowering is shaped withinside the leaves, subsequently migrating to the shoot apices and enhancing them into flowering apices. Therefore, withinside the absence of leaves, light belief might now no longer occur, i.e., the plant could now no longer reply to light.
