Option A) Cholesterol is defined as a waxy alcohol, fat-like substance that occurs naturally in all areas of the human body. Cholesterol is measured in milligrams per 100 millimetres of blood. The normal level of cholesterol varies between 150-200 mg per 100 ml. Any increase in cholesterol level leads to hypercholesterolemia or high cholesterol. Normal cholesterol is 180 mg/dl or 180 mg/100ml. < 200 mg/dL is considered to be normal blood cholesterol; 200-239 mg/dL borderline-high; and > 240 mg/dL high cholesterol.
