Option D) The following are some of the environmental factors that affect the rate of transpiration: Dry environment: When the surrounding air is dry, transpiration or diffusion of water out from the leaf goes on more rapidly. Temperature: The rate of transpiration is more at higher temperatures. This is so because water evaporates more rapidly as the temperature rises. In diffusion, air moves from high pressure to low pressure. If atmospheric pressure is low, air (which contains water) will move out of the plant and into the atmosphere, hence increasing transpiration.
