When Zinc is added to a solution of Iron (II) sulphate, a displacement reaction takes place. Zinc being a more reactive metal than Iron (as zinc lies about iron in the reactivity series), will replace iron from its salt solution. The reaction produces Zinc sulphate + Iron.
