Arrange the following metals in the order in which they displace each other from the solution of their salts. Al, Cu, Fe, Mg and Zn
A metal having stronger reducing power displaces another metal having weaker reducing power from its salt solution. The increasing order of reducing power is Cu<Fe<Zn<Al<Mg. Thus, Mg can displace Al from its salt solution but Al cannot displace Mg. The order in which the metals displace each other from their salt solutions is Mg>Al>Zn>Fe>Cu.
