An object approaches a convergent lens from the left of the lens with a uniform speed 5 m/s and stops at the focus. The image a) moves away from the lens with a uniform speed 5 m/s b) moves away from the lens with a uniform acceleration c) moves away from the lens with a non-uniform acceleration d) moves towards the lens with a non-uniform acceleration

Correct option is C) When an object approaches a convergent lens from the left of the lens with a uniform speed of 5ms, the image moves away from the lens with a non-uniform acceleration.  For example, if  f=20m and  the different position of object are u=−50m,−45m,−40m and −34m,  Then, we get v=33.3m,36m,40m and 46.7m. Clearly, the image moves away from the lens with a non-uniform acceleration.
