Bryophytes and Pteridophytes produce a large number of male gametes but relatively very few female gametes. Why?
The main reason behind Bryophytes and Pteridophytes producing many male gametes but relatively very few female gametes is that male gametes need medium (water) to reach egg/female gametes. So there is a chance of male gametes getting lost in the water and not reaching female gametes
