The nucleus of a vegetative cell of pollen grain combined with 2 polar nuclei of the central cell of the female gametophyte joins to produce the primary endosperm. This fusion is called vegetative fusion or triple fusion because it involves 3 nuclei. It happens in the central cell of the egg apparatus
