How sex is determined in human beings?
In human beings, all the females bear a pair of X-chromosomes while males have one X-chromosome and one Y-chromosome which is comparatively smaller in size. Thus, in a cross between males and females, there is an equal probability of males and females in progeny and sex is determined based on the presence of a Y-chromosome in the progeny. If a Y-chromosome is present it is male otherwise it is a female child.
